I think I'll start off with an introduction. I learned to crochet when I was little. My grandmother taught me a few things as well as my mom and my sister. I really enjoyed it but never seemed to have the time for it. I wanted to learn to knit so I started with a simple dog coat for my dog. I figured she wouldn't care how bad it looked once it was done :)
I did fairly well on the dog coat. I liked knitting. But still didn't have much time for it. Then, I got pregnant... Our goal was for me to be a stay at home mom, so we decided to downsize. So we sold our house and moved to an apartment in Cambridge. Then I had lot's of time. So I really dug into knitting and crochet to learn as much as I could. It was a lot of fun! I made the odd thing here and there for others but never thought it would go any where.
One day visiting an old friend in a retirement home I had brought along a project to work on while talking. I noticed he was wearing converse style slippers! I commented on them saying how awesome they were. He told me if I could make some like them I could do well at selling them... This got me thinking, he was on to something here!
So I made up some converse style slippers! Sold a whole ton of them on kijiji to! But slowed down a bit after that. Then I got into some very cute hats, found Etsy and the rest seems to be history!
Now I'm really working on my Etsy to try and get that moving. I'm working on getting into designing my own crochet patterns to. I've designed five now I think. I really should write them down... hmmm... ;)
